Sutton Bowling Club’s
outdoor bowling programme runs from late April until 1 October but
may vary a few days depending on the weather. The Club has two
excellent full size greens situated in landscaped grounds with ample
car parking. It currently has over 200 men and lady bowlers, and
welcomes new members, particularly those wishing to play bowls for
the first time.
An invitation to prospective
members to come and meet some of the senior members of the club,
informally, in our bar. Just come along any Monday from 19th
February onwards around 8.30pm. You will be sure of a warm welcome.
If you wish, this could include a taster session on our indoor green
- just bring some thick socks, or flat-soled shoes with you.
Bowls will be provided. Contact Anne Singleton, Membership
Director on 020 8686 7165. Email: annie.sings@care4free.net.
Dates
for your diary. Friday 18th April - introductory meeting for
those who have reserved a place on the outdoor course. Saturday
19th April 10am to 2pm - open day for anyone interested in learning
how to bowl. Ask your relatives, friends and neighbours to come
along as well. Monday 28th April - outdoor course
begins.
Subscription fee for the 2008 outdoor bowling
season is £150. No green fees, play and practice seven days a
week.
Important matches are usually played on the top
green to enable spectators to watch from the modern clubhouse and
veranda. The restaurant and bar are available for pre- and
after-match entertaining. Facilities at the club are excellent with
modern changing and meeting rooms plus modern toilets with
facilities for disabled and wheelchair bowlers.
Full
details about the comprehensive men’s, ladies and mixed lawn bowling
programme are listed under the various subheadings on this Outdoor
Bowling section of the
website. |
