MEN'S INTER-CLUB
NATIONAL DOUBLE RINK CHAMPIONSHIP
The
Club's two teams in the above national competition got off to a
fantastic start with both sqads winning their preliminary and first
round matches. Unfortunately, both teams lost their second round
matches. After beating Croydon 'C' and Shirley Park, the 'A'
team lost at home on Wednesday 4 June to Croydon 'B'. The 'B' team
beat Epsom 'A' and Horley only to lose at home on
Saturday 31 May to Chipstead 'B'.
LONDON
& SOUTHERN COUNTIES COMPETITIONS
The Club's
teams in the above competitions have got off to a good
start.
Pairs Keith Adams and
Steve Shanley representied the Club in the pairs and had an
excellent win against two current Middleton Cup players from North
Sheen.
Triples
In their first match
on Sunday 18 May our triples team Terry Buckland, Alan Bateman and
Roger Graves beat Southey 17-11. They won their next
match 18-5 on Saturday 14 June at home against North Sheen who
won the title last year.
Fours Dave
Pease, Dave Thomas, Gordam Adams and Alan Butler beat Streatham Park
at home on Saturday 24 May and won away at Belmont on Thursday
12 June.
SUTTON & DISTRICT BOWLING
ASSOCIATION'S COMPETITIONS
Sutton, last
season's beaten finalists, started off extremely well in their
first Yonwin Cup match with the three rinks winning
92-40 away at Carshalton on Friday 30 May. The next match is at
6pm Tuesday 1 July away to Supreme.
Triples Dave Pease, Geoff Taylor and
Charlie Radley lost 18-16 in the Arthur Hughes Triples away at
Epsom.
SURREY COUNTY
COMPETITIONS
Neil Asten, Ray Watson, Geoff Robinson
and Eddie Rochford represented the Club in the Area Three Top 4s at
home on Saturday 7 June but unfortunately lost 18-17 to Reigate
Priory.

OUTDOOR COACHING
COURSE Thirty potential new bowlers attended the Open
Day on Saturday 19 April resulting in 20 signing up
for coaching course which began on Monday 21
April. We are delighted to welcome these new members to
the Club and hope that they enjoy their first season, of many
seasons, bowling with
us.
