The Social Committee is ever active in providing a variety of social events including fun nights, dinners, guest speakers and so on. These events are usually on Friday evenings. The New Year marked the end of an era in the management of the Social Section. Betty Hurley had been Chair of the Social Committee (as it was then known) since 1988. Betty retired following the Christmas Dinner and Carol Service and her place is taken by Ted Mulcaster.
